Antonio's Restaurant, which opened Thursday, promises Jackson good, authenic Italian food.
Antonio's is located at the corner of Woodlawn and 20th Street in Jackson Township. This is the second location for Antonio's with another restaurant in Perry Township.
Antonio's has been in business for more than three years and is owned by Tony and Kalene Amendola.
"We decided on another location and picked this corner because we are close to Belden Village but still in a residential area. We like being the neighborhood place," Kalene Amendola said.
Antonio's prides itself in offering authenic italian food. Tony Amendola was born in Italy and makes sure that all the food is homemade. Amendola says, "We don't do any advertising. Most of our customers come back, and we get all of our new customers by word of mouth."
Customers come in mostly for the Italian Beef Sandwich which is Antonio's version of the philly steak sandwich.
"We sell out of the Italian Beef nearly everyday," said Tony Amendola.
Antonio's also offers other italian fare, such as pizza, pasta and salads. They are open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and offer takeout orders.
