JACKSON TWP.: Jackson Baseball Administrator Dan Ernst, addressed the Board of Trustees on Thursday night to discuss the cost of improving three baseball fields in the township.
Each field needs dirt in order to make them ready for baseball season.
The cost to improve the field at North Park will be $6,000. Another $5,000 will be needed for Lake Cable Baseball field and $1,000 is needed to improve the field at Fisher Park.
There is also an additional cost of $1,500 for other improvements at Fisher Park, including work on fencing and bleachers.
Ernst told trustees that money has been raised for all the improvements through team sponsorships and fundraisers. Work will begin soon.
Ernst also thanked the trustees for their hard work in keeping the parks open and running despite the failed levy also known as Issue 29.
"We are blessed to have our park system," said Ernst.
