JACKSON TWP.: The Board of Trustees approved Tuesday night the purchase of new lifepak defibrillators for the fire department.

The lifepaks are needed to assist in emergency calls.

"They are better heart monitors that we really need," said Fire Department Chief Tracy Hogue.

The cost for the monitors is $152,145.60. Hogue explained that they wanted to lease the lifepaks, but buying them was cheaper in the long run.

The board also accepted donations for the 2013 community celebration. Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths & Dougherty Co. donated $500.00 and Employers Health Purchasing Corporation donated $1,000.00.

The next board of trustees meeting will be held at 5 p.m. on Feb. 12 at the township Hall, located at the corner of Mudbrook and Wales Road.
