The Jackson Board of Trustees met last week to re-elect the president and vice president of the board. James Walters will continue as president and John Pizzino will continue his duties as the vice president. The trustees also agreed to continue scheduling their meetings for the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.
In other news, a resolution was approved, which will allow an additional parks levy to be included on the May 7th ballot. This levy will be for $1 million and will generate $1.26 million annually. The proposed levy must be approved by the Stark County Auditor's office.
The trustees also approved an agreement with the Police Department lieutenants, which will allow for a two percent raise in the first year and no raises for the second and third years. Donations were also accepted for the 2013 Community Celebration. Aqua Ohio donated $250 and Aultra Administrative Group donated $500.
The next Jackson Board of Trustees meeting will be held Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the Jackson Township Administrative offices on Wales Avenue.
