Jackson Explorers Christmas Toys For Kids still seeks donations

The Jackson Township Police Explorer Post continues to collect monetary and toy donations for the holiday season. 

This is the 27th year of the event, ending Dec. 13, which benefits needy children through the Stark County Domestic Violence Project.

The Domestic Violence Project provides shelter for victims of domestic abuse.  Most of these victims are women and children. The staff accepts toy donations to give to the children residing in the shelter. Last year, the project reported that they had received 4,115 calls and that 141 children were living in the shelter. 

The Project works together with the Jackson Township Police Explorer Post, which is a division of the Boy Scouts and offers programs for students who are interested in the police profession. 

Donation drop off locations are:

1. Jackson Township Safety Center, 7383 Fulton Drive N.W.

2. Jackson Township Hall, 5735 Wales Avenue N.W.

3. Dollar General, 5384 Fulton Drive N.W.

4. Saint Jacob Lutheran Church, 8697 Mudbrook Street N.W.

5. Lake Cable Shoe Repair, 5555 Fulton Drive N.W.

Only monetary donations or new toys will be accepted, except for stuffed toys or animals. Checks can be made out to Jackson Township Police Explorers and can be mailed or delivered to the Jackson Township Safety Center at 7383 Fulton Drive N.W., Massillon Ohio 44646.
