The 2013 Jackson Fire Expo will be held Feb. 9th and Feb. 10th at Jackson High School. This expo is presented to firefighters as part of a continuing education program. Fire and EMS exhibitors will be present.

Jackson Professional Firefighters Local 2280 received its charter on October 13, 1973 and currently has 66 members. These members are responsible for fire suppression, fire prevention and community education. Some firefighters are also trained in hazardous materials, confined space rescue, rope rescue and SWAT tactical paramedics.

This year's presentations include Five Alarm Leadership and a Fireground scenario workshop offered by Chief Rick Lasky and Battalion Chief John Salka. There will also be information given on NIST studies and Commercial building fires presented by Captain Dave Fornell.

The event will kick off Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The same hours will be on Sunday. Lunch is included in the price. The price is $75 for one day and $140 for both days. Firefighters are asked to register by Jan. 19, as this is a first come, first serve event.
