The Jackson School for the Arts will hold an All-District Arts Extravaganza from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday in the Jackson High School commons.
The free event will feature performances by the Jackson School for the Arts students, which will include the Phantom of the Opera cast, the Crucible cast and the Jackson Company dancers.
The Jackson School for the Arts was established in 2001 for students who have an interest in dance, drama, art and music. This program allows students to be exposed to special opportunities and experiences in the arts.
"All students must apply to the program and submit a letter of recommendation. They are then interviewed to see if they will be a fit," said Susan Gardner, Jackson School for the Arts faculty member.
The extravaganza will also provide a dinner of pizza or sub sandwich, salad, chips and water for $5 from 5:15 to 8:00 p.m. There will also be a dessert bar and a "create your own cupcake bar" for an additional $2.
Visitors will also be able to view several art exhibits, which will include African, American, Spanish and Latin art provided by Arts in Stark. Children will be able to make masks and bead necklaces.
There will also be a silent and live auction. A few items up to bid on that evening include, trips, flat screen TV's, golf at Brookside Country Club, Ohio State-Iowa club seat football tickets and Cleveland Indians tickets.
