Jackson Local Schools schedule events for students, community members

The Jackson Local School district has announced a few special events for students, as well as the members of the community in the district.

Jackson High School Outdoor Club Ice Skating Event:  This event is opened to family, friends, and staff of Jackson Local Schools. It will be held on Friday at Lock 3 in Akron. Those wanting to attend should meet at 7 p.m. in front of the  high school.

The PTO will also be collecting coins next week to help raise money to renovate Lake Cable Elementary School’s gym. They are hoping to reach their goal of $2000.00.

PTO Family Fun Skate Night: This will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the North Canton Skate Center. The event is open to families in the school district and the cost is $3 per skater. Skates can be rented at the center for $2.25. The PTO will also offer food and beverages at the center.

For students who are interested in learning how to fly, the school district will allow those ages 16 and older to apply for a General Aviation Scholarship. This scholarship is in offered through the East Central Ohio Pilot's Association. Multiple students will be awarded the scholarship, provided that the school receives qualified candidate applications. For more information, please contact Mrs. Myers at 330-837-3501.
