Jackson loses three part-time employees, opens bids for upcoming road project

The Jackson Township Board of Trustees met Tuesday evening to accept the resignations of three part-time employees within the township.

Firefighter David P. Ayers and police officers Samuel Thirion and Jeffery Caughey tendered their resignations to the trustees.

In other trustee news, bids for the 2013 road striping project were opened. The trustees will decide on the winning bid at the next meeting. After the company is selected, road work is expected to be completed by October.

The trustees also announced times and dates for upcoming meetings which are opened to the public. The next trustee meeting will be held at 5 p.m. on Aug. 13. The Community Celebration committee meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 11. Friends of Jackson Parks will meet at 7 p.m. also on Sept. 11.

All meetings are held at the township administrative building located at 5735 Wales Avenue NW.
