The Browns are hosting an NFL high school 7-on-7 football tournament in Berea this weekend.
Players from Alliance, Bryan, Canton McKinley, Defiance, Elmwood, GlenOak, Jackson, Malvern, Parma Padua, Valley Forge, Westlake, Western Reserve and Youngstown Christian have been invited to take part in the event.
The schedule of events at the Cleveland Browns Facility at 76 Lou Groza Blvd. in Berea:
Friday: 8 a.m.–2:45 p.m. round robin 7-on-7 play.
Saturday: 8 a.m.–10:15 a.m. round robin 7-on-7 play; single elimination tournament begins at 11:45 a.m.
Saturday: 4:30 p.m. championship game.
Monday and Tuesday: National Lineman Challenge.
The high school players participating in the NFL National 7-on-7 Tournament were selected through their participation in the NFL High School Player Development program this summer.
In addition to the tournament, participants will also hear from NFL Player Engagement Ambassadors Luther Elliss, Antonio Freeman, Irving Fryar, Terry Johnson, Pete Mitchell and Tony Stewart on Friday night on the importance of education and character development.
The NFL High School Player Development, presented by the National Guard, is free for students around the United States. The program will reach more than 40,000 high school student-athletes at more than 180 sites in nearly all 50 states this summer.
