Jackson’s Johnny Nottingham has verbally committed to pitch for the Akron Zips.
The Canton Repository reported on Wednesday that the right-handed Jackson senior wasted little time in committing to Akron, and he may waste even less time making an appearance on the pitching mound.
“They’re looking at me as a bullpen guy,” Nottingham told the Canton Repository. “They said I’m a max-effort delivery type guy, so I’ll be coming out of the bullpen. They’re expecting me to compete for a position right away.”
