Jackson Township branch kicks off library card sign-up event online next month

By Donna Rovan correspondent

The Stark County Library, including the Jackson Township branch, will host library card sign-up during the month of September.

The branch’s goal is to make sure that every child in the township and all of Stark County has a library card. Beginning next month Stark County residents will be able to get a library card by going online.

The Jackson branch will also be holding a fine amnesty week from Sept. 16-21 where all fines will be forgiven and everyone will have a fresh start.

That same week, other branches of the Stark County District Library branches will join forces to with the Massillon and Louisville public libraries to feed the hungry. Patrons can bring in a non-perishable food item along with overdue material to have fines removed.

All food items will be donated to the Stark County Hunger Task Force. This organization provides food to 25,000 people every month in the county.

Please visit for more information and details on the month of September. You may also reach the Jackson Township Library branch by calling 330-833-1010. Jackson Township Library is located at 7487 Fulton Drive N.W., Massillon, Ohio 44646.
