Stark County Recorder, Rick Campbell addressed the board of trustees in order to get the word out about an ID program for area veterans.

JACKSON TWP.: Stark County Recorder Rick Campbell addressed the Jackson Township Board of Trustees last week regarding a new identification card for veterans.

"This is basically like a driver's license which will have all the veteran's information,"  Campbell said.

The new DD214 ID card program will help verify a veteran’s information when checking for discounts on everyday items from meals to electronics to cars.

To receive the new card, veterans would need to present two forms of identification at Stark County Recorder's Offices, along with a $1 fee.

The DD214 ID Card Program is already being used in many states and is making it easier for military personnel to identify themselves.

"My goal is to educate Stark County about these ID's and let people know they are out there," Campbell said.

If you are a veteran who is interested in the ID card or if you would like more information, please contact the Stark County Recorder's office at 330-451-7443 or email Mr. Campbell at recorder@co.stark.oh.us.

The recorder's office is located at 110 Central Plaza South, Suite 170, Canton.
