JACKSON TWP.: Jackson Township trustees appointed Fire Chief Tracy Hogue to the Community Improvement Corporation at Tuesday night's trustee meeting.
All members of the community improvement corporation must either own a business or be the designated representative of a organization in the township. They must also reside in Jackson. Hogue's membership officially began on Feb. 1, and will end on February 1, 2014.
Chief Hogue began his tenure as chief on March 12, 2011. He has been with the Jackson Fire Department for 35 years and served as head of the Fire Prevention Bureau until being promoted to chief.
Hogue is the past Chairman of the Fire Data Exchange Association and on the board of directors of the International Association of Arson Investigators, Ohio Chapter. Hogue also received the Fire Investigator of the Year award in 2009.
The Community Improvement Corporation or CIC works with local businesses and residents in order to help build the economy. They work with the building department to encourage new businesses to establish themselves in the township. They also help existing businesses to improve and flourish. Hogue will be the governmental representative.
